Bernita Louise Randermann Meyer, age 85, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2005, at Windsong Village Convalescent Center in Pearland, Texas. She was a resident at the nursing home since April 29, 2005, after a rapid and progressive decline in health. Before her admittance to the center, she lived and worked in the Kuykendall and Sandy Hill communities of Brenham for most of her life. As a young woman, she held many jobs and retired from the workforce after many years of service in the cafeteria at Blinn College in Brenham. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in which she was active in the women s group and was formerly active in a quilting circle. She was her happiest when working outdoors in her garden. Bernita Louise was born on January 17, 1920, to Albert and Ida Randermann. She was the oldest daughter of the six children born to them. She was educated in the Kuykendall schools. She married Elmert William Meyer on April 27, 1946, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. They made their life in Fort Worth, Bryan and Houston and moved back to Brenham to rear their children. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Ruby and Roger Morrow of Alvin, Texas and Nancy Kuecker of Sour Lake, Texas; four grandchildren, Christina Morrow and Matthew Morrow, both of Alvin, Kade Kuecker and Karah Kuecker, both of Sour Lake. She is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Maurine and Clyde Gibson of San Antonio; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmert W. Meyer; two brothers, Alex Randermann and Amos Randermann of Brenham; and her two sisters, Elizabeth Hohmann of San Antonio, Marian Wehmeyer of Brenham; and a son-in-law, Michael Kuecker of Sour Lake. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 20 in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Wehmeyer, James Wehmeyer, Bruce Gibson, Arnold Bubba Dreyer, Jr., Nelson Randermann and Delphine Randermann. Memorials may be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
