Betty Heald

Betty Irene Heald, 85, of Brenham, wife of Charles Dean Heald, died February 4, 2009 at Kruse Memorial Village. Mrs. Heald was born April 12, 1923 in Middlegrove, Illinois, to Clifford and Jesse Wheeler Jacobus. She was a clerical employee in the U. S. Patent Office. Mrs. Heald was a long-time member of the Northwood Presbyterian Church of San Antonio, active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, as well as in the P.T.A. while her children were in school. At Kruse Village, she participated in the water aerobics program. Survivors include her husband, Charles Dean Heald; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Don Keller of Brenham; grandchildren: Stacey and Steve McLarty, Stephanie and Rob Barbour, and Christine and Daniel Nelson; great-grandchildren: Michael, Chris, Jeremy, Jessica and Sean McLarty and Declan and Sydney Nelson; sister, Eva Moorhouse of Canton, Illinois. Preceding her in death was her son, James Heald. A memorial service for Betty Irene Heald will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2009 at Kruse Memorial Village Chapel with Rev. David Hansen officiating. Those who wish to memorialize Irene may make contributions to Kruse Memorial Village. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
