Betty J. Hutson, 62, of Texas City, widow of Curtis Lee Hutson, passed away January 18, 2008 in Mainland Medical Center in Texas City. Mrs. Hutson was born February 26, 1945 in Orange, Texas to Ora Otto and Varona Ennis. On April 5, 1958, she married Curtis Lee Hutson in Houston. She was a homemaker. Survivors include sons Rocky Hutson and wife Karen of Grand Junction, Colorado; Alan Hutson and wife Kimberly, and Tony Hutson and wife Joy, all of Brenham; daughter Tammy Whitten and husband Dan of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren: Errin Cherry, Joshua Cherry, James Whitten, Tabitha Whitten, Crystal Gaskamp, Rebecca Wilkin, Brooke Hutson, Jesse Young, Christopher Hutson, Jay Young, Jake Young; brothers Roy Ennis of Vidor, and and Hoyle Ennis of Livingston; sisters LaMerle Askew of Buna, LaVerne Cooksley of Vidor, and Helen Pinter of Houston, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, Brandi Hutson, two sisters, and one brother. Funeral services for Betty J. Hutson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Reverend Merlin Swan will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Wealthy Cemetery in Normangee. Visitation with family and friends will take place Monday, January 21 from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Hoyle Ennis, Douglas Wayne Ennis, Merkel Dean Johnson, Charlie Franklin Johnson, Billy Ray Johnson, and Donald Joe Johnson. Honorary pallbearer is Roy Ennis. Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
