Bettye Wolverton

Bettye Jackson Wolverton, 90, of Burton, died Jan. 13, 2004, in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Wolverton was born July 5, 1913, in Mt. Enterprise, Rusk County, Texas, to T.C. and Rebecca Davis Jackson. In February, 1932, she married Hollis Wolverton. Mrs. Wolverton was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Carolyn Wolverton of Burton; daughter-in-law, Rena Faye Wolverton of Pearland; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Wolverton; son, Jack Wolverton; parents, T.C. and Rebecca Jackson; sister, Bessie Hobbs; and brothers, Andrew Jackson, Belva Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Wells Jackson, Frank Jackson, E.D. Jackson and Aubrey Jackson. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 in First Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise with Joe Orr officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, near Mt. Enterprise. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, 210 N. Railroad Ave., Mt. Enterprise, TX 75681. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
