Beverly Rice

June 5, 1953 — November 13, 2013

Beverly Denton Rice, 60, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at her home in Brenham. She was born in East Bernard, TX, June 5, 1953, and shares her birth date with two of her beautiful granddaughters. Beverly graduated from Lamar High School and soon after in 1973, she married her soul mate, Ben Rice. Together they raised three children in Richmond, before finding their little slice of heaven on a hilltop in Brenham. After raising her beloved children, Beverly became a well-established realtor in Washington County and was passionate about helping people find their little slice of heaven as well. Never one to give up, she was selling real estate until her passing. She loved her little house in the country, the bounty of her organic garden and antique roses. Beverly enjoyed cooking beautiful garden-to-table meals and baking the most delicious desserts for her family. She truly spoiled those around her with her magical ability to entertain. Beverly loved her kitties and her loyal dog Tucker, whom she rescued roadside three years ago. She also had an envious shoe collection that was to-die-for. Beverly was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Van Slyke and her father, Joseph R. Denton, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Veronica Denton of Richmond, devoted husband, Ben Rice of Brenham and their three children: Beau and wife Ashley Rice and their children, Kaili, Madeline and Taylor of Austin; Lyndsey and husband Rick Anderson and their children, Andrew and Emily of Austin; and Graham Rice of San Marcos. She also is survived by her sister, Muriel Loessin and partner Richard Waymire and brothers: Robert and wife Jolie Denton; and David Denton. Beverly also survives ten nieces and nephews.
