Billie Hope Dismukes Baranowski, 71, of Chappell Hill, widow of Alphonse Daniel Baranowski, died April 11, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Bryan. Born October 26, 1938 to Hamilton H. and Frances Mozelle Locklin Dismukes in Thorndale, Texas, she attended and graduated from Caldwell High School in May, 1957. On November 23, 1957, she was married to Alphonse Baranowski in St. Mary½s Catholic Church in Brenham by Msgr. Charles Wiesenerowski. Billie and her husband moved to Houston in November, 1957. She was employed at Mortgage & Trust Inc. for 28 years. In 1985, the family moved to Chappell Hill, where Billie was employed at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church for over 21 years. She often spoke of her love for her ½Parish Family½. It was her greatest joy to serve them and her church for so many years. Billie was well-known as an expert ½Bingo½ caller at St. Stanislaus for nearly 20 years. Later, she worked for Heflin Tax Service for 5 years. When her beloved husband, Alphonse, suffered a stroke, she turned her attention to him as a loving caregiver. He preceded her in death in 1999. Billie was also preceded in death by her son, David in 2005; parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chester and Annie Baranowski; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Sarah Dismukes, nephew Joe David Dismukes, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leonard and Janie Baranowski. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Elaine Baranowski; granddaughter and husband, Shelly and J. D. Davis; grandson Jake Baranowski, all of New Braunfels; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ernest and Barbara Bugaj of Houston; an aunt, Billie Biehle of Rockdale; nephews Leonard ½Poncho½ and Julie Dismukes of Brenham, Steve and Dawn Baranowski of Cat Spring, niece Janice and Rodney Marek of Rogers; great-nephews: Chad and Amanda Dismukes, Cole Dismukes, Brett and Daniel Baranowski, Chance and Chad Marek; great-nieces Amanda and Vito Perez of Katy, Jena Dismukes, and Kelly and James Antowiak of Brenham, and great-great nieces Kenley and Irylan Antkowiak;. Also surviving are special friends Ovie Davis, Doris and Harry Faterkowski and family, Stella Mikolajczak, Melvin and Liz Wiesneske and family, Dorothy and Edwin Jankowiak, Susan Hood, Dorinda and Steven Heflin and Sally and Lonnie Heflin. A rosary for Billie Hope Baranowski will be recited Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, with Rev. Msgr. Benedict Zientek, officiant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Poncho, Chad, and Cole Dismukes, Steve Baranowski, Harry Faterkowski, Ryan Faterkowski, Melvin Wisnieske, and Edwin Jankowiak. Honorary pallbearers will be Julie Dismukes, Doris Faterkowski, Ovie Davis, Stella Mikolajczak, Dorothy Jankowiak, Sally Heflin, Susan Hood, and Dorinda Heflin. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Regional Health Center, with special gratitude to Dr. Gutierrez and the nurses of the Critical Care Unit for their excellent care. A special thank you is extended to Msgr. John Malinowski for his prayers, counseling and encouragement. Memorials in Billie½s memory may be directed to a favorite charity or True Blue Animal Rescue.
