Billy Ray Grimm, a life-long resident of Brenham, entered eternal peace with the Lord on January 5, 2017.
Born February 10, 1946, Billy was baptized at Saint John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill. He was confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg. In 1969, Billy married the love of his life, Joy Dell Draehn.
Billy never met a stranger, as he could strike up a conversation with anyone. Over the years, he enjoyed meeting and working with people at Grade A Meat Market, Marketplace Casseroles, and Chappell Hill Sausage. During retirement, he raised German Shepherds and sold them through Grimm's German Shepherds.
Billy is survived by his children and grandchildren: Brian Grimm and his daughter, Payton; Jonathan Grimm and his wife, Christie, and their children, Ethan and Megan; Bret Grimm and his wife, Shawn, and their sons, Bentley and Tanner; Angela Bernshausen and her husband, Bobby, and their children, Amber, Lauren and Wesley. He is also survived by his sister, Gracy Lange; sister Delois Moehlmann and her husband, Jones; brother Arthur Grimm, Jr. and his wife, Dorothy; brother Harry Grimm and his wife, Gloria (Cookie); brother-in-law Gerald Draehn; brother-in-law Douglas Draehn and his wife, Tammy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Dell; his parents, Arthur and Lydia Grimm; father-in-law and mother-in-law Melvin and Lydia Draehn; brother-in-law Elroy Oevermann; and brother-in-law Monroe Lange.
Known as "PoPo" to his grandchildren, Billy loved good food, talking politics, reminiscing with friends, dreaming about winning the lottery, and spending as much time as possible with family. And who could forget the time he wrestled a bear?
