Billy Rosenbaum

Billy Wayne Rosenbaum, 66, passed away August 27, 2016 in Brenham.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 A.M., Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Walt Schindehette officiating. Graveside services following at Prairie Lea Cemetery will be under the auspices of Graham Lodge 20 A.F. & A.M.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Billy Wayne Rosenbaum was born Sept. 21, 1949 in Brenham to Lee Roy and Bernice Heckman Rosenbaum. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham. Billy was a graduate of Blinn College and Sam Houston State Universitiy.

Billy served his community as Deputy Sheriff and Chief Deputy of Washington County for sixteen years and sheriff from 1985 until 1993. He later worked as Chief of Hospital Security at Trinity Medical Center, and served four terms as constable for Precinct 4 of Washington County. Billy was also a past master of Graham Lodge.

Survivors include sons Brandon J. "Beau" Rosenbaum, and Bryan "Cody" and Stacy Rosenbaum, all of Brenham; grandchild, Raelyn Skye Rosenbaum; sisters Diana Rosenbaum; Ann Gaskamp and husband Craig, all of Brenham. Other surviving relatives are a niece and nephew, Jonathan Gaskamp and Melissa Gaskamp. He was preceded in death by parents Lee Roy and Bernice Rosenbaum, and grandparents Charles and Elsie Rosenbaum, and Lewis and Minnie Heckman.

Serving as pallbearers are the past masters of Graham Lodge 20 A.F. & A.M. All present and former employees of the Washington Co. Sheriff's Office will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be directed to the Sheriff's Association of Texas.
