Blake Edward Armstrong, 30, of Brenham, died Dec. 28, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Armstrong was born Feb. 9, 1974, in Vung Tau, South Vietnam and came to his new family, Gene, Lynn, Brent and Tonya Armstrong, on March 6, 1975. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson in the class of 1993. He attended Blinn College for two years and joined the Washington County Sheriff s Department as a jailer. Almost immediately he was promoted to patrolman and shortly thereafter was promoted to the Narcotics Task Force. On Nov. 20, 2004, he married Jenny Lynn Sutherland in Magnolia. Survivors include his wife, Jenny Lynn Armstrong of Brenham; mothers, Mary Lynn Armstrong and Myra J. Armstrong, both of Richardson; brother, Brent Armstrong of McKinney; sisters, Tonya Henderson of Grapevine and Tammy Armstrong of Dallas; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Debbie and Billy Sutherland of Magnolia; sister-in-law, Chrissy Ginnis of Conroe; and uncle, Terry Walker of Wichita Falls. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Armstrong. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Calvary Baptist Church in Brenham with the Rev. Billy Sutherland and Bob Grigg officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Art Senteno, Don Wass, Jerry Maywald, Brent Armstrong, Robert Leedy, Shane Snider, William Shepherd and Tony Krueger. Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff J.W. Jankowski, the Washington County Sheriff s Department and all fellow law enforcement officers. Memorials may be given to Washington County Peace Officers Association.
