Bobbie Marie Meinecke

Bobbie Marie Dierking Meinecke, 88, of Burton, died on March 28, 2023 in Katy, TX. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, burial will follow the service at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Bobbie was born on February 18, 1935 in Sandy Hill, TX to Robert Dierking and Mary Meier Dierking.  She was baptized in to the Lutheran faith at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in 1935 and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in 1949. In September of 1951, Bobbie met Arthur “Jim” Meinecke at the White Horse Café in Burton. Bobbie moved to Houston with Jim in January of 1952 and they married on January 23, 1954 at Weideville Lutheran Church. Through this time Bobbie and Jim retained residences in both Houston and Brenham, and moved permanently back to Brenham in 1993. She worked mostly in electrical manufacturing at G.E.O. Space, Hybred System and Uson Corporation. Bobbie has attended the Cowboy Church of Brenham since its formation. The family is very thankful to the Cowboy Church and its members for its prayers and continued support.

Bobbie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles Dierking and wife, Janelle; grandchildren, Rhonda Davenport and husband, Bo, Russell Wright and wife, Melissa and Rachel Barker; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Ellis, Vivienne and Jonah. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and close friends Neil and Cheryl Kulhanek.  A special thank you to Charles Sherhouse, we are forever grateful for the assistance he provided Bobbie after her husband, Arthur passed. He would bring her groceries, assist with upkeep around her house and in feeding her donkeys.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Jim” Meinecke; daughter, Cherry Wright; mother and father, Robert and Mary Dierking; sister, Marion Lampe and her beloved dog Bruewski.
