Bobby Bredthauer

Bobby L Bredthauer went to be with his Savior on January 16, 2024.Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19th. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20th at St. Paul's Lutheran church of Rehburg with burial following in the church cemetery.

Born in the Burton Hospital on February 6,1939 to Arnold W. Bredthauer and Esther (Wilkening) Bredthauer. He was baptized (claimed by God) on March 26, 1939 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, and later confirmed his Christian faith, in the same church, on April 6, 1952. 1 John 5:4 was his chosen memory verse.

He graduated from Burton Public Schools and proudly served the armed forces (Army) for two years with most of it being stationed in Germany.

On April 8, 1967 he married Clarice Sehlke by Pastor John Kueker. They were blessed with one son (Byron) and 56 years of marriage.

He started his career with Texas A & M University, Soil & Crop Science Department, in 1959. In the department of Cotton Research, his travels were from Dallas to Corpus Christi, testing plots, visiting with farmers and working with county agents. Graduate students from all parts of the world would get their hands on training in this department. The highlight of his career was in 1993 when he was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Award in Excellence by the Texas A & M University System in Research Support Role. After retiring in 2000, he would be, "going back to Burton to ranch with the cows".

His enjoyment was hunting with friends, playing cards, and going to dances.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Clarice, son, Byron, sister in laws, Ruby Sehlke, and Betty Hohlt, nephews, Alan (Connie) Hohlt, Glenn Hohlt, Kevin (Cathi) Hohlt, Craig (special friend Kelly) Hohlt. Cousin, Shirley (Glen) Prenzler, and great nieces and nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Ed and Isabel Sehlke, brother in-laws, Edward Sehlke, Elmer Hohlt, and nephew, Robert Sehlke.

Pallbearers: Rickey Fischer, Brian Hinze, Pat Simecek, Ted Dusek, John Glowacz and Al Nelson.

Honorary Pallbearers: Berry Malkey, John (Ike) Porter, Arlin Naegeli, Dennis Pietsch and Roger Weichert.
