Bonnie Scheffer

Bonnie Sue Scheffer, 75 of Brenham, Texas died on January 20, 2025 in her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Napa, CA., on February 24, 1949 to Virginia and William Quinly. She later was baptized at the age of 17 at Christian Church of Everton, Missouri. She attended Everton High School and had numerous employers over the years where she worked as a Bookkeeper until her retirement.

Bonnie married James Edward Scheffer on March 13, 1976 and together they raised their daughter, Jamie Renee Ahrens and son, Brian Quinly Scheffer who went on marry his wife Shelley. They were blessed with the following grandchildren: Courtney Isabele Jantes and husband Alex Jantes; Brayden James Quinly Scheffer and Quinly Shawn Scheffer. She loved watching her grandchildren grow, especially as they played sports. She also enjoyed her great grandchildren, David James, Isabele Juliette, Alejandra and Jocelyn Jantes.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren and brother-in-law, Billy Scheffer and sister-in-law, Shirley and her husband Mike Gajeske along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, father and mother-in-law, Edward Charles and Carrie Emma Scheffer; sister-in-law, Francis Scheffer, along with special friends, Henrietta Ahrens and Jerry & Arlene Ahrens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 23rd at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church - Sandy Hill and burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Brayden Scheffer, Alex Jantes, Stephen Scheffer, Charles Gajeske, Allen Gajeske, Brandon Mueller, Duane Ahrens and Michael Hohlt. The office staff of Dr. Scott Williams will be Honorary Pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill or Brazos Valley Hospice.
