Bonnie Jean Gajeske Schlottmann, 87, wife of the late Carl A. Schlottmann, went peacefully to her heavenly father on May 22, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Bonnie Jean Gajeske Schlottmann was born January 18, 1924, in Brenham, Texas to Edgar and Annie Stelter Gajeske. She was baptized July 20, 1924, and later confirmed on April 10, 1938, at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. Bonnie attended Brenham area schools. On March 16, 1941, she married Carl Andrew Schlottmann and enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his death on July 18, 2007. She was a member of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid for a number of years, serving as secretary. Bonnie was a sweet and very loving mother and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and was cherished by everyone. She had a heart of gold and the warmest smile. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, family gatherings, visiting family and friends, and attending her grandchildren''s events. She and her husband founded Schlottmann Oil Co. in Brenham. Bonnie will be deeply missed by her loving children: son Carl Edward Schlottmann and friend, Joyce Boeker, of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Ronald Charles and Janice Schlottmann of Brenham, and son and daughter-in-law, Donald James and Michelle Schlottmann of Burton. Her grandchildren filled a special place in her heart: Jennifer DeVoke and husband John of College Station, James Schlottmann and wife Christy of Brenham, Chris Schlottmann and wife Lisa of Haslett, and Austin Schlottmann of Burton; five great-grandchildren: Renee and Sara DeVoke, Evan and Dylan Schlottmann, and Connor Schlottmann and C. J. Langley. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Schlottmann, her parents, and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, with Pastors Phil Fenton and Kathy Haueisen officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons: James Schlottmann, Chris Schlottmann, Austin Schlottmann, John DeVoke, Andy Farwell, Doug Luedemann, Conner Schlottmann and C.J. Langley. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul''s Christian Day School, or to St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham.
