Brenda Herr

Brenda Lois Herr, 59, the wife of Larry Herr, passed away January 17, 2017 in Bryan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at Welcome Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Brenda Lois Herr was born September 10, 1957 in Brenham to Edwin and Margaret Miller Wensel. She was baptized December 8, 1957 by Rev. Jewel Johnson at St. John's United Church of Christ in Burton. On May 21, 1972, she was confirmed by Rev. Paul Otter. She was married to Larry Herr on July 5, 1985. Brenda retired as a senior customer service representative for the City of College Station after 35 years.

A member of Welcome Lutheran Church, she was active in several committees. She was always willing to help others and serve those in need.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Herr of Bleiblerville; son, Nicholas Herr of Bleiblerville; mother-in-law, Gladys Herr; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bruce Hohlt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Laura Herr of Bleiblerville; nieces: Shelbie Hohlt and fiancé Santos Benitez, Shayna Hohlt, Dawn Herr, Leigh Herr,and Nancy Herr.

Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as special friends Gilbert and Carolyn Goeke, Kenneth and Karen Grebe, Lori and John Spiess, and Rodney and Diane Schubert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her father-in-law, Wilbert Herr.

Serving as pallbearers are John Spiess, Kenneth Grebe, Gilbert Goeke, Gary Herr, Alan Kuehn, Jordan Spiess, Jared Schubert, and Michael Hohlt. Honorary pallbearers are John Haarmeyer and Rodney Schubert.

Memorials may be directed to Welcome Lutheran Church.
