Calvin F. Hodde, 80, of Houston, died March 4, 2005, at the Forum of Memorial Woods retirement center. Mr. Hodde was born January 29, 1926, in Burton, Texas, to Charles and Emma Schultz Hodde. He was a graduate of Burton High School. He earned his BBA in 1949 from Sam Houston State University and his MBA in 1951 from the same university. On June 2, 1951, he married Margie E. Williamson in the First Baptist Church in Huntsville. Mr. Hodde was an accountant for many years and an employee of Nalco Chemical for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton, Kappa Delta Phi, Washington County Farm Bureau Association, Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, National Checker Federation, and AARP. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Wendell Charles and Sammy Hodde of Cypress; daughter, Joan Marie Hodde of Houston; grandson, Tyler Meyer of Cypress; sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Scott of Trinity, and Jerry Williamson of Huntsville; and close cousins, Nathalie Giese of Burton, Travis Schultz of Houston, and Larry Wayne Stark of Cypress. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margie, and his parents. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, at the Memoral Oaks Chapel in Brenham, TX. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 7 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Chalk Cemetery in Kittrell, TX near Trinity. Honorary pallbearers will be William Wendler, Gilbert Shultz, Larry Wayne Stark, Dane Houston, Larry Cantwell, Tom Whitener and Travis Shultz. Memorials may be given to the St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton, TX Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memoral Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St. in Brenham, TX.
