Carl Vaughn Dimoush, widower of Bernell Louise Dimoush, died on January 12, 2024 in College Station, Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2024, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Carl Dimoush was born on January 18, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Walter C. and Ethel Eunice (Varner) Dimoush. He graduated from high school in 1945 and was drafted into the Army Air Corp and sent to serve in Greenland. He graduated from William Jewell University in 1950 with a B.A. in History and was then drafted into the Air Force and stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base.

Carl was united in marriage with Bernell Louise Schroeder on September 19, 1959 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Houston.  

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the State of Texas in the tax department. He loved music, having taught himself to play the harmonica as a teenager. He also enjoyed woodcarving, growing orchids which were shown in competitions and spending time as a bass fisherman.

Carl was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years, the Houston Orchid Society and the Houston Area Woodcarvers Guild.

He is survived by his sister Phyllis (Dimoush) Faust of Stockton, Missouri.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bernell, and his sisters, Shirley Dimoush and Glenna (Dimoush) Seal.

Memorials may be directed to American Legion Post 159, Bryan, Texas Scholarship Fund.
