Carl Clifton "Buddie" Gambill, 79, of Brenham, husband of Madeleine Drews Gambill, died October 12, 2009 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Buddie Gambill was born October 13, 1929 to Alvin Wesley and Grace Smith Gambill in Snow Hill, Arkansas. He served his country in the U. S. Navy, and married Madeleine Drews on June 29, 1954. Mr. Gambill retired from Sun Oil Co. after 38 years of service. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was also a member and Past Master of Graham Lodge No. 20, and Scottish Rite. Survivors include his wife, Madeleine Gambill of Brenham; daughter, Karon Norment and husband Jack Matthew of San Antonio, and a sister, Mrs. Audrey Doggett of Tyler. Also surviving are nieces Suzanne Anderson and husband Leonard Bludworth, Dianne Martini and husband Alan, Beverly Allen and husband Brad, nephew Victor E. Gambill, Jr. and wife Margaret, as well as many loving great-nephews and great-nieces. Preceding him in death were his parents, Alvin Wesley and Grace Gambill; brother Victor E. Gambill and wife Virginia, brother Wesley Gambill, and a brother-in-law, Billy Jack Doggett. Funeral services for Carl Clifton "Buddie" Gambill will be held Friday, October 16, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Larry Embry and Rev. Dean E. Meade officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery under the auspices of Graham Lodge No. 20 AF and AM. Visitation with family and friends will take place Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Victor E. Gambill, Jr., Alan Martini, Jack Matthew Norment, Matthew P. Martini, Steven James Holton, Chad Link, Michael Joe Bracewell, and Andrew Martini. Brad Allen, Bob Anderson, Robert "Bo" Anderson, Leonard Bludworth, and members of Graham Lodge No. 20 will be honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL17, Chicago, Il 60601-7633 or to Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 E. Blue Bell Road, Brenham, Tx. 77833 or Graham Lodge No. 20 Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 1105, Brenham, Tx. 77834. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
