Carl Owens

Carl Eugene Owens, 62, died May 7, 2013 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Darren Donaldson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 13 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Carl was born Sept. 24, 1950 in San Antonio to Jesse T. and Florence Lassner Owens. He served his country in the U. S. Army, a veteran of the Vietnam War. On March 2, 1992, he married Patricia Dennis. Carl was employed by AT&T for nearly 12 years as a financial inventory representative. Fishing and camping were favorite activities, and he was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Carl enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and going to the casinos. He was a talented handyman who could build just about anything. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Dennis Owens; daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Tony Bevilacqua of Bellevue, Neb., grandchildren Isabella and Frankie Bevilacqua, and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward J. and Debby Owens of Piedmont, S.C.
