Carl Riggs

Carl William Riggs, 72, husband of Susan Riggs, died January 19, 2016 at his residence in Burton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2016 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton, with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton. Mr. Greg Malloy will officiate.

Carl Riggs was born July 30, 1943 in Kingman, Kansas to Cecil William and Blanche Miller Riggs. He attended Kansas State University. On March 24, 1964, he was married to Susan Murray. Carl was retired from the oil and gas industry. An avid outdoorsman, he was interested in botany and spending time outside. A Christian, Carl treasured time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Murray Riggs, and son, David Riggs, both of Burton; daughter, Janet Riggs Kamps and husband Ray of Nacogdoches; brothers and sisters-in-law Roy and Paula Riggs, and John and Jane Riggs. Other surviving relatives are Robert and Lynn Murray, and Marilyn and Glenn Schmittou. He was preceded in death by his parents.
