Carol Jaster

Carol Jaster, 74, passed away on May 9, 2022. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday, May 12 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Graveside services will be at 10:30am on Friday, May 13 at Shelby Cemetery in Shelby, TX.

Carol Yvonne Ullrich was born on February 25, 1948 in Houston to parents Herbert and Marie (Murski) Ullrich. She grew up in Houston and was a graduate of St. Pius X High School.

She met Elwood at a mutual friends house while visiting her family in Shelby.  Soon after, Elwood swept her off her feet and they were united in marriage on September 9, 1967.

They settled in Brenham and started a family.  They were blessed with three children, David, Jill, and Holly. Carol was a loving and dedicated wife and mother.

In recent years, Carol enjoyed spending time at the Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center, volunteering and visiting with friends. Carol enjoyed playing pitch and gambling, always ready to shop, and loved anything with cats on it. She enjoyed going to local festivals and playing the cake booth and grocery booth.  She was a gambler “just letting it ride”.

Carol also enjoyed baking and trying new recipes. She would often bake your favorite dessert just to bring a smile to your face.

Carol is survived by her children David (Tammy) Jaster, Jill (Justin) Hirtzel, Holly (Raymond) Jaster; grandchildren Justin Jaster, Colton Jaster, Joshua Hirtzel, and Julia Kristynik. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
