Carolyn Florence Bernard, 97, of Brenham, Texas passed away on January 21, 2022. She was born Carolyn Florence Craig on November 28, 1924 in Orange County, Indiana. She graduated high school and became a legal secretary, and also worked at Simplistic Pattern Company. Her favorite job in life was being a mother to her only son Craig, who passed away on the same day 22 years ago. Carolyn also had a great love for her grandchildren and was a spectacular Grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Lisa Pike and husband Clint of Bentwater, TX; grandchildren, Starr Shephard Whitley, Lindsey Shephard Repka and Clayton Repka, and Ross Shephard; great-grandchildren, Olivia Jeans, and Natalie Repka. Other relatives include, Lynn Hawk, Kay Stout, David Thompson, Allen Thompson, Gary Thompson and Neal Thompson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Bernard, son, Kenneth Craig Shephard, parents, Alva and Emma Craig, and sister, Allene Thompson Ray.
The family of Carolyn Bernard wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Roy Richardson who was an incredible caretaker and best friend to her, also much love and thanks go to the staff of Silver Sage Assisted Living and Amedisys Hospice, and for the abundance of love and smiles from many other close friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Memorial Oaks Chapel, officiated by Pastor John Sutton.
