Carolyn Dykes

Carolyn Jean Harborth Dykes, 72, wife of Daniel Dykes, passed away April 16, 2017, in Brenham.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Oak Rest Cemetery, with Brent Hampton and Ed Triem officiating. Following the graveside service, a reception will be held at the Brenham Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Carolyn Dykes was born August 31, 1944 in New Braunfels to Hilmor Arthur and Eldrieda Dora (Kraft) Harborth. She was baptized into the Christian faith on February 26, 1950. On August 22, 1964, she was married to Daniel Dykes. Mrs. Dykes was an elementary school teacher and a member of Brenham Presbyterian Church.

Surviving is her husband, Daniel Dykes of Brenham; sons, Charles Rand Dykes of Austin, and Kevin Lee Dykes (Anja Rusche) of Berlin, Germany; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Jerry Joseph of Bryan; grandchildren, Tilda Rusche and Lola Rusche.

Preceding Carolyn in death were her parents, Elfrieda and Hilmer Harborth, and a sister, Janice Lynn Hinds.

Pallbearers are Kelsey McCarson, Mark Hinds, Erie Dorcheus, Robert Aitken, Roger Jipp, Jamie Harrison, and Brandon Dykes.
