Carolyn Korth

August 19, 1935 — May 31, 2015

Carolyn Williams Korth, wife of Walter Korth, Jr., passed away May 31, 2015 at Kruse Village in Brenham, surrounded by her family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Carolyn Korth was born August 19, 1935 in Wink, Texas to Vernon Sr. and Jewell McMillian Williams. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa. On October 1, 1955, she married Walter Korth Jr. in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was retired from the banking industry, having served as a bank teller for Wells Fargo for many years. Carolyn''s family was very important to her, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. A favorite quote, in her handwriting, found tucked away in her Bible confirms her love for her family: "To my little family: I love you all so much. We have been so blessed to have each other." A member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, she was always willing to share her faith with family and friends. Playing pitch was a favorite pastime. She was also an avid reader. Carolyn''s kitchen was her domain, and she enjoyed making the family''s favorite dish of chicken spaghetti. Survivors include her husband, Walter Korth, Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law David and Callie Korth, and James and Sherry Korth, all of Brenham; grandchildren: Jessica and Charles Grimes, R.J. Rychlik, and Phillip Rychlik; great-grandchildren: Emilee Korth and Avery Grimes; sister, Martha Eeds of Livingston, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Vernon Williams, Jr., and Hollis Earl Williams; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cora and Walter Korth, Sr. Serving as pallbearers are Keith Korth, Charles Grimes, R. J. Rychlik, Phillip Rychlik, David Thompson and Dr. Michael Korth. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley, or Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin. Funeral arrangements for Carolyn Williams Korth are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham. To post a tribute to the family, visit www.memorialoakschapel.com.
