Carolyn Wolverton

Carolyn Kay Gibert Wolverton, 60, of Burton, died Jan. 27, 2004, in her home after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Mrs. Wolverton was born April 24, 1943, in Mount Enterprise, TX, to Albert and Louise Phillips Gibert. On Dec. 29, 1961, she married Billy T. Wolverton. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Gibert; stepfather, Harlon Riggs; mother-in-law; father-in-law; grandparents; and one stepbrother. Survivors include her mother, Louise Riggs of Burton; husband, Bill Wolverton of Burton; sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Julia Wolverton of Houston and Tom and Jennifer Wolverton of Harker Heights; daughter, Melissa Wolverton of Burton; sister, Sheila Webb of Brenham; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg with Pastor Larry Henrichs officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg. Arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St. in Brenham.
