Casey Forrest Brunette, 21, of Brenham entered heaven at 8:40 am on June 20, 2008 at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston. Mr. Brunette was an organ donor therefore was kept on life support until 10:45pm Saturday when all of his organs found new owners. Visitation will be Wednesday June 25 from 7 pm to 9 pm with Funeral Services on Thursday June 26 at 10 am at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham with Rev. Henry Sanders officiating. Gravesite services to be at 2 pm at Courtney Cemetery in Grimes County outside of Navasota. He was born March 9, 1987 in Bryan, Tx, the son of Otis & Rose Brunette. While attending Brenham High School he participated in the Marine Corp JROTC and Cross Country Track and was on the football team for several years at Iola High School where he graduated May 2005. He then moved back to Brenham to live with his sister. He joined the U.S Army October 2005.He completed the 12 weeks of Calvary Scout Course March 2006 in Fort Knox, Kentucky which his mother, & Les drove to Kentucky to attend and spend time with him before leaving to be stationed at National Training Center in Fort Irwin, CAthis is where all military attend before being deployed. They would say he went from Texas weather to cold Kentucky to California in the Mojave Desert. He received an Honorable Discharge September 2007 with several awards. Casey enjoyed playing video games, fishing, hunting and camping. He had a unique personality and enjoyed making people laugh and aggravating some especially his sister, Kristie and her children Camille & Cannon. He was excited about the upcoming birth of another nephew in August and was looking forward to going with his family for the 4D ultrasound which was to be Saturday June 21st. His employer was C.H Harvey at Tfe Company in Brenham as a machinist. Casey was very excited about this job with high hopes to moving up since his dad is also a machinist at Accurate Machine Works. Casey was preceded in death by his sister, Tonia Marie Brunette. Cousin, Brett Haferkamp in 2007, whom he thought of as a brother.Grandparents: Otto Lee Haferkamp, Marie Rosenfelder, Viola Futrell, Otis Lewis Dutch Brunette. Great Grandparents: Louie & Ola Brunette, William Forrest & Ida Mae Strawn, Henry & Beulah Haferkamp. Numerous aunts and uncles including his Uncle Dale Haferkamp in 2007, whom inspired him into joining the army. Casey is survived by his mother, Rose Brunette & Les Norsworthy whom Casey called him Stepdad Snooky of Brenham, father, Otis Brunette & stepmother Gladys of Anderson. Sister, Kristie Manley & husband Jason of Brenham. Brothers Corey Brunette of Anderson, Colton Brunette of Iola. Special Niece, Camille Vivian Manley and nephew Cannon Manley of Brenham and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. Casey is also survived by his grandfather, Art Rosenfelder of Hempstead, Uncle Gerald Don Brunette of Bryan. Uncle David Haferkamp of Amarillo, Uncle Robert Haferkamp of Navasota and Aunt Diana Lara of Navasota. All of which were inspiration for him to join the military.
