Charles “Everts” Dees, 57, died December 14, 2018 in Burton.
Charles “Everts” Dees, was born in Ft. Stockton on July 11, 1961 to Fred Allen and Wanda Laverne (Tidwell) Dees. He was baptized into the Christian faith in 1997.
The oilfield business led the family to spend one year overseas before moving to Missouri, where Everts graduated from Conway High School. After graduation he returned to Ft. Stockton to work in the oilfield. Here, he met Michelle, and they were married in the Brenham Church of Christ. The family then moved to Giddings. Two children, Clayton and Jason, were born to this union.
After relocating to Brenham, Everts attended air conditioning school, and then worked for Sears. The family eventually moved to Burton, and for the past 16 years, he was employed by Brenham I.S.D. in the maintenance department.
Everts coached soccer, and was active in Boy Scouts for many years. He loved to participate in barbecue and chuck wagon cook-offs. Hunting and camping were favorite hobbies, and he treasured time spent with his grandkids, family, and his many friends. Everts was a member of the Washington County fair chuckwagon team and also the Sourdough Cookers chuckwagon team with Gary Buchanan. He was a member of the Cowboy Church of Brenham.
Everts is survived by his wife, Michelle; sons and daughters-in-law Clayton and Janae Dees of Schulenburg, and Jason and Cheslyn Dees of Weimer; mother, Wanda Dees; brother and sister-in-law David and Janet Dees of Copperas Cove; grandchildren: Jonathan, Layne, and Raini Dees; Austin and Jason (J.J.) Ortiz, and Kadince and Bailey Dees. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Beverly Preddy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Ninfa Preddy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Dees; brothers Burt Dees and Lee Dees, and father-in-law, Charles Preddy.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Viewing will be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
