Charles Lamarr

Charles Vaughn LaMarr, 72, husband of Kim LaMarr, passed away May 24, 2017 in College Station.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Champion Fellowship Church, with Pastor Tim Webb officiating. Cody Reeves is sharing special moments. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Charles LaMarr was born Sept. 7, 1944 in Ada, Oklahoma to Charles Lucien and Esther Janet Snodgrass LaMarr. He served his country as a senior airman in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. LaMarr was the owner of Charles LaMarr Trucking Co. and LaMarr Cutting Horses. On May 6, 2000, he married the love of his life, Kim Reeves. They lived in Baytown and later made their home in Brenham, TX.
A member of Champion Fellowship Church, Charles was a friend and neighbor to all. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Association, and the National Cutting Horse Association. Charles served as president of the American Cutting Horse Association and was also a member of Baytown Horse Association. Other memberships included the Pro Stock Car Association, the H.O.G. Association, and the Washington County Fair Association.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Reeves LaMarr; son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Emelia LaMarr of Austin; daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Galen Gardner of New Braunfels; daughter, Erin LaMarr, of New Braunfels; Melissa Born, and daughter and son-in-law Allison and Chase Stroud, all of Brenham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Cody and Shelly Reeves of Dripping Springs; grandchildren: Lauren, Darby, Brynna, Dylan, Andrew, Wyatt, Madison, Luke and a grandson on the way. Other surviving relatives are cousins Jayne Rehm and Jacquelyn Craven.
Mr.LaMarr was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Michael David LaMarr.
Serving as pallbearers are Ron Bourque, Dylan Aubey, Andrew Aubey, Chase Stroud, Ty Born, Wyatt “Little Man” Born, Galen Gardner and Case Reeves.
Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Merrill, Dale Junghans, Sam Schulze, Mike Lawhon, Randy Piatt,, Bill Whitehead, and Jim Van Hoozer.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley, Alzheimer’s Association, and JAM 2017.
