Charles David Stinson of Brenham, Texas entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was born in Houston, Texas on October 26, 1933 to John David and Lena Mae (Cutts) Stinson.
He served in the Navy as an Airman 3rd class in San Diego, California during the Korean conflict. For 31 years he worked as a salesman of school supply products for Mead Paper Company where he loved meeting the needs of his wholesale customers. His favorite pastimes included spending time with his beloved boxers Jake and Chico, golfing, fishing, and keeping his yard and shrubs immaculately mowed, edged, and trimmed. He was an avid “42” player and loved playing with his friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Brenda Lake. Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Anne Stinson, his daughter Deborah (Tom) McLaughlin, his step-daughter Rebecca Allen(fiancée Kenneth Best), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.
Charles was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Brenham for 14 years. He strengthened his faith through his service to the Lord in the church and served as Deacon and Elder. His leadership was inspirational to all members of the congregation.
A memorial celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the First Christian Church of Brenham, 306 Cottonwood, Brenham, Texas with Pastor Art Free officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Charles’ memory to the First Christian Church of Brenham Building Restoration Fund.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
