Charlie Willie Oevermann of Brenham, 71, husband of Marilyn Ullrich Oevermann, passed away May 11, 2008, at Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Mr. Oevermann was born October 22, 1936 in Burton, Texas to August Henry and Elsie Oevermann. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, and was educated in Burton schools. He served in the National Guard, in active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961. On October 7, 1961, he married Marilyn Ullrich in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. Mr. Oevermann was employed as a heavy equipment operator, and was involved in ranching. He was a member of the Brenham Volunteer Fire Dept., and served as an usher at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church. He loved to listen to polka music, and enjoyed watching wrestling on television. Survivors include his wife Marilyn; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Mary Oevermann of Belgrade, Montana, and daughter and son-in-law Dinah and Todd Jacobs of Brenham; two grandchildren Zachary Scott Jacobs and Jenna Elyse Jacobs; brothers and sisters-in-law August G. and Valeria Oevermann of Brenham, Harold Oevermann of Burton, Louis and Voncille Oevermann of Tennessee and Edwin Oevermann of Houston, sisters Natalie Ginn of Burton and Rose Kenjura of Brenham, as well as relatives Elroy and Marion Ullrich, Kenneth Ullrich, Wilbert and Deanna Ullrich, and Glenn and Irene Ullrich. Mr. Oevermann was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, brothers Otto Oevermann and George Oevermann, as well as brother-in-laws Willie Ullrich, Jr., Bernard Kenjura, and Gerry Ginn. Funeral services for Charlie Willie Oevermann will be held Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top. Visitation with family and friends will take place from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. He will lie in state from noon Monday until noon Tuesday at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton, then Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. till Wednesday 8:30 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are August Gene Oevermann, Bill Hohlt, Brent Ullrich, Blain Ullrich, Kevin Ullrich, and Michael Oevermann. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Keith Ullrich, Zachary Jacobs, and Jenna Jacobs. Memorial contributions should be directed to the American Cancer Society, Hospice Brazos Valley, and St. Paul''s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
