Chloe Behne

Chloe Marie Pierce Behne, 77, of Brenham, died Dec. 30, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Behne was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Houston, Texas, to Hiram Clayton Sr. and Mary May Freddie Rowell Pierce. She was baptized in West End Baptist Church. She was educated at John H. Reagan High School in Houston. On July 6, 1946, she was married to John Louis Behne in Fairbanks Methodist Church. Mrs. Behne was a member of First Baptist Church of Brenham, where she was a longtime member of the choir. She loved to be creative, especially in her handcrafts: crocheting, tatting, knitting and sewing. Survivors include her husband, John Louis Behne, Sr. of Brenham; son, John Louis Behne, Jr. of Brenham; daughters and son-in-law, Susan Marie Behne Drews of Brenham and Connie Behne and Gary Paul Truxillo of Houma, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Angela Drews Patterson and husband Roger Guy Patterson, Laurie Truxillo, Jennifer and Andy Blanchard, Linda Truxillo and Gary Truxillo, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Diagle, Thomas Truxillo, Hailey Blanchard and Julia Truxillo; and brother and sister-in-law, Hiram Clayton Jr. and Arden Pierce of Palo Alto, California. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Behne; son, David Wayne Behne; parents, Hiram Clayton Sr. and Mary May Freddie Rowell Pierce; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo Theodore and Mary Emelie Lang Behne; and sister, Geraldine Jerry Ann Pierce Weaver. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Charles Matejowsky officiating. Burial will be in Fairbanks Methodist Church Cemetery in Fairbanks. Memorials may be given to Camp For All, 6301 Rehburg Rd., Burton, TX 77835. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
