Christine Pendergrass

Christine Pendergrass, 91, of Brenham, died Dec. 27, 2014, at Scott and White Hospital in College Station, TX. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Mrs. Pendergrass was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Lakeview, TX, to Murray William and Waltha Mae Hancock Nettles. On Feb. 12, 1938, she was married to Robert A. Pendergrass in Meadow, TX. They had had a loving marriage for 65 years. Mrs. Pendergrass had a 32-year career as a buyer for Hemphill-Wells Department Store in the ladies ready-to-wear and fur departments. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Judy Pendergrass of Brenham; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Don Robert Pendergrass, two brothers and two sisters.
