Christopher A. Johnston, 64, husband of Gayle Johnston, died January 24, 2014 at his residence. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel, in Brenham. Chris was born March 23, 1949 in Palo Alto, California to David Christopher and Cynthia Bleifuss Johnston. He obtained a BBA from the University of Texas, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and became a licensed CPA. He was President/CEO of L.F. Manufacturing, Inc. Having attained the rank of Eagle Scout during his youth, his stewardship of the land, his passion for animals and his storytelling skills served him well later as a Scoutmaster. Chris is survived by his wife, Gayle Patterson Johnston, his daughter Lisa Johnston Leese and husband David Leese and their children Makenna, Jackson, Kaden and Rylan; his son David Johnston and wife Jessica Johnston and their children Jake and Cooper; his son Tim Johnston and wife Lisa Johnston, his siblings and their spouses, Tim and Nancy Johnston, Pete Johnston, Robin Johnston and Ben and Renee Johnston, as well as several nieces and nephews. His wife, children and their spouses, and grandchildren were the treasures of his life, even before sailing and golfing! Serving as pallbearers are Dr. Albert Braden, Joe Braden, Paul Drouin, Dale Farrar, Rob Harris, Jack Murray, and Blake Stoehr. Honorary pallbearers are Kelvin Johnston, Ryan Johnston, Brian Bagwell, Lee Patterson, Brian Patterson, and Jay Viola. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project, Shriners Hospital for Children, the Boy Scouts of America, or the the charity of your choice.
