Clara Wanselow

July 11, 1924 — March 25, 2016

Clara Johanna (Murski) Wanselow, the widow of Robert D. Wanselow, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 25, 2016.

Clara was born July 11, 1924 to the late John and Johanna (Andrejczak) Murski in the Mill Creek Community of Brenham.

On Friday, April 1, 2016 a viewing will be held beginning at 10:00 am and the Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 701 Church St., in Brenham, with Monsignor John C. Malinowski as celebrant. Per Clara's wishes cremation will follow the funeral service with her ashes to be interred, at St. Mary's Calvary Cemetery, at a later date.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brenham and Traditions Club in Bryan.

She was employed for a brief time with Southwestern Bell in Dallas and also was a model with Patricia Stevens Models of Dallas. There is where she met her future husband, Robert Dean Wanselow. They were united in Holy Matrimony on June 6, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brenham, Texas.

After their marriage, they lived in several states finally settling in California and lived there for many years in various cities. They moved back to Texas in the late 1990's.
She attained a degree in art and was a very talented artist and took great pleasure with gifting people with her works of art. Clara also used her talents in creating exceptional landscape designs at every home she and her husband lived in over the years. She took great pleasure in flower gardening and had a great appreciation for nature and birds.

Another favorite pastime of hers was ordering from mail order houses, she often commented "that it was like having Christmas all year round with receiving the packages." After her husband's passing in 2012, she became very interested in the stock market and found it challenging to follow her stocks. She was sharp until the very end for which we are most grateful.
After the death of her husband, she moved from Bryan to Kruse Village to an apartment which she often commented that Brenham was so lucky to have such a wonderful place for "us old people". She absolutely loved it there.

Clara is survived by nieces: Virginia Malinowski (Alvin); Kathryn Kitowski and special friend, David Stegent; Patricia Nutz (Michael). Nephews: Albert Kitowski, III (Janet) and John A. Murski (Julie). Great Nephew, Albert "Bert" Kitowski, IV and great niece, Jessica Ann Kitowski. Also very special friend Don Hobbs, and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Bruno J. Murski, twin sisters, Angela Kitowski and Emily St.Amand and nephew, Allen St. Amand.

The family would like to especially thank Don Hobbs for his kindness and friendship to Clara the last several years and to the staff of Kruse Village for their kindness. Also to Dr. Jacques Mamigonian for his excellent care of Clara. We want each of you to know it is greatly appreciated.

Aunt Clara we love you and you will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
