Clarence Otto Krause, 82, of Brenham, died June 2, 2004, in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Mr. Krause was born Nov. 8, 1921, in the Long Point community of Washington County, Texas, to Adolf August and Emilie Harmel Krause. He was baptized Jan. 15, 1922, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg by Rev. Weber and was confirmed April 5, 1936, in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton by Pastor Adolf Walton. He was educated in the Long Point School. During World War II Jan. 26, 1943 to Jan. 24, 1946, Mr. Krause served in the U.S. Army in the 52nd General Hospital in England. On June 24, 1951, he was married to Lee Dell Boehnemann in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenvine by Rev. A.B. Weiss. He lived on a farm most of his life. Mr. Krause was retired from the Washington County Road and Bridge Department. He was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton, where he sang in the men s choir and served as church treasurer and on the council. Mr. Krause was a member of Buddy Wright Post No. 48 and a life member of James F. Dillon Post 7104. He loved to dance and play cards and dominoes. Survivors include his wife, Lee Dell Krause of Brenham; sister, Annetta Schulz of Spring; sisters-in-law, Gladys Krause, Edna Krause and Thelma Jurries, all of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Herman, Albert, Benny and Raymond. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg and Greg Felder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in Memorial Oaks Chapel. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. John s United Church of Christ Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
