Clarence Henry Niemeyer, 85 of Brenham, husband of Gladys Niemeyer, died August 14, 2009 at Trinity Care Center. Clarence was born July 7, 1924 to Henry and Emma Duebbe Niemeyer near Burton Texas. He was baptized August 31, 1924 at St. Paul s Lutheran Church in Rehburg by Pastor Weber. Confirmed May 5, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor Gogolin. He attended Prairie Hill School. On May 1, 1966 Clarence married Gladys Buddenberg at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem by Pastor Rother. After his mother s death, Clarence was raised by his Aunt and Uncle Sophie and Edward Krause. Clarence was a farmer and retired from Brenham Wholesale Grocery as a fork lift operator after 31 years. Survivors include his wife Gladys Buddenberg Niemeyer, brother and sister-in-law; Milford and Lucille Niemeyer of Bryan, brother-in-law Floyd Grebe of Brenham, sister-in-law Louise Schramme of Brenham, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and Aunt and Uncle Mr. and Mrs. Edward Krause, his sister Leona Grebe and his brother-in-law Charles Schramme Jr. Funeral services for Clarence Niemeyer will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2009. at St. John s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor David Hanson. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Nephews will serve as pallberers.
