Clarence R. Reuter, 74, of Brenham, died June 28, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mr. Reuter was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Round Top, Texas, to Edwin and Alma Michael Reuter. He attended Nassau and Round Top-Carmine Schools. Mr. Reuter served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. On Nov. 21, 1953, he was married to LaVern Schulz in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton. For 23 years, Mr. Reuter was a manager at Central Freight Lines and for 20 years he was a truck driver for Brenham Wholesale Grocery Co. He was a member of St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, the American Legion Buddy Wright Post 48 and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Reuter was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed baseball, especially the Astros; having coffee with friends, especially his cousin John Rabbit Reuter, at Max Donuts; and listening to Polka Time on Saturday mornings. Survivors include his wife, LaVern Reuter of Brenham; son, Russell Reuter of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and John Bilski of Brenham; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Nick Bilski and special friend Stephanie Moon, Jenny Bilski, and Justin and Tara Reuter; brother and sister-in-law, Delvin and Lucille Reuter of Orchard; sister and brother-in-law, Corine and Harry Schulz of Fredericksburg; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Floya Ann and Harvey Merten of Brenham. He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jessie and Eddie Schulz. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 30 in St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Jerry Merten, Darrell Plagens, Kenneth Sliva, John Reuter, Marvin Henry, Bradley Schulz, Terry Hartcraft, Ricky Wickel, Eric Plagens and Kyle Merten. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Merten, Lavern John Reuter, Erwin Schulz, Roy Lorenz, William Nowak, Clarence Herzog and L.G. Albright. Memorials may be given to St. Paul s Radio and TV Ministry or the charity of your choice.
