Adele Kroll

1922-2021

Claricedel (Adele) Andrews Kroll entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Adele was born June 6, 1922 in Houston, Texas to William LaMont “Monty” Andrews and Thelma Blackman Andrews in Houston, Texas.

Adele graduated from John H. Reagan High School in Houston, Texas where she was a member of the prestigious Reagan Red Coats and graduated from the University of Houston.

Adele worked for Baker Botts law firm in Houston, Texas as an Executive Secretary and the Houston Independent School District before retiring to Brenham, Texas.

Faith was always a part of her essence. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church Houston. After her move to Brenham, Texas she continued her devotion by driving into Houston, weekly, for church services.

For many years, in Houston, Adele was a hospital volunteer at Columbia Spring Branch Medical Center, in the gift shop, along with dear and close friends Jane Dye and Willien Plackemeier. She was a charter member with the Afton Village Women’s Club. In 2011 she was in attendance celebrating 50 years of charter membership.

Even though she was an alumna of the University of Houston, Adele was a huge fan of Texas A&M and the Fightin’ Texas Aggie band. She was a season ticket holder for Aggie football until the age of 92. In 2011 she received a treasured, framed and signed photograph from her favorite Aggie; Ryan Tannehill that read: To Adele Happy 89th Birthday! Gig ‘em Ryan Tannehill #17 Col 3:23.

Antiquing, painting and needlepoint were favorite hobbies. Additionally, Adele was an avid reader, collector of recipes and one to keep up with current events. You could often find her enjoying the sunny days of Texas, sitting in her breezeway, looking at the flowers in her yard and enjoying the quiet songs of the many Hummingbird’s zipping around her hanging feeders. Throughout her life she was surrounded by many pets to include horses, cats, dogs, and her most recent, a lovable Maltese Poodle she named Sweetie.

Adele was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, cousin and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon Kroll and sister-in-law Dottie Hunter. She is survived by sons Mike (Elaine) Kroll and Derrick (Monique) Kroll; grandsons Brandon (Vicky) Kroll and Bryan (Amber) Kroll; great-grandson Noah Kroll; sister-in-law Mary Dunbaugh; and a host of cousins to include Karen (Donald) Voelter, Debbie Fannin, John, Paul and Susan Artz.
