Clement Konieczny

Clement Konieczny, 67, of Brenham, husband of Lillian Konieczny, passed away September 7, 2008 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Mr. Konieczny was born June 9, 1941 to Tony and Mary Twardowski Konieczny. He was baptized and a life-long member of St. Mary''s Catholic Church, as well as a 1959 graduate of Brenham High School. On January 8, 1972, he married Lillian Worchesik in St. Mary''s Catholic Church of Hemsptead. He was employed by the City of Brenham as a water plant operator. Clement was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and coached the Mustang Football Team for St. Mary''s School. He enjoyed fishing, and loved football. He played softball, both fast pitch and slow pitch on the St. Mary''s CYO teams. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Konieczny of Brenham; sons Donald Konieczny and wife Shelly of Houston, and Daniel Konieczny of Brenham; daughter Doris Ann Konieczny of Brenham; a sister, Adelene Konieczny of Houston; brothers Raymond Konieczny and wife Hedwig of Hempstead, and Leonard Konieczny and wife Clarice of Latium; grandchildren: Evan Joseph and Anna Claire Konieczny; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Felix and Thelma Worchesik, Sylvester and Lillian Worchesik, and Theresa Bilski, Frances and David Majewski, Dorothy and Benard Meleski, Dominic Worchesik, and Florence and Malcolm Browne. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law Peter Bilski, and a grandchild, Amber Lyndell Konieczny. A funeral mass for Clement Konieczny will be offered Wednesday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary''s Catholic Church in Brenham, with Father Benedict Zientek, officiant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m., with a vigil service to be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., and a Rosary to follow, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Jeffery Worchesik, Patrick Worchesik, Chris Worchesik, Anthony Worchesik, Timothy Worchesik, Calvin Bilski Godchild, Jonathan Majewski, Mark Meleski, and Matthew Meleski. Memorials may be directed to the organ fund of St. Mary''s Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
