Cody Ray Guin, 22, of Brenham, died October 23, 2009 in Trinity Medical Center. Cody was born February 8, 1987 to Charles and Darby Cryer Guin in Little Rock, Arkansas. A graduate of Brenham High School, he was employed as an auto technician at Tegeler Toyota. Survivors include his mother, Darby Guin; grandmother, Irma Howard; brother Jeremy Guin, and sister-in-law, Alicia Guin, brother, Justin Guin; nephew Jaxon Guin; special family members, Christina Borgstedte and Becky Borgstedte. For the past 8 years, he made his home in Brenham with his loving aunt and uncle, Trish and Dale Borgstedte. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Cryer, Sr. Cody was passionate about restoring trucks and vintage cars. He was a member of the Brenham Chapter of the Vertically Challenged Car Club. Cody was a kind and gentle person, known for his easy-going, giving nature. He was known as a gentle giant by those who knew him best. Funeral services for Cody Ray Guin will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Dr. George Klett officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Fletcher, James Franke, Eric Giese, Ryan Schroeder, Marcus Vasquez, John Eric Coonse, Derek Grimm, and Colt Clay. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Giese, Larry Tegeler, R. E. Sonny Dannhaus, and all employees of Tegeler Toyota. Memorials may be directed to a favorite charity.
