Colleen Barry Ybarra was a woman so incredibly full of life and love, that it became contagious to those she encountered on a daily basis. She was always so positive and caring. When her Irish eyes were smiling, you knew you were in good company.
No matter what stage of life you knew Colleen, you would be remiss to notice that she unequivocally lived her life to the fullest and was the life of the party even when there wasn’t a party. She didn’t care, she loved to have fun and loved to surround her loved ones in all aspects of her life. She knew no boundaries and her loves was known far and wide. Her family fondly remembers going to her favorite Italian restaurant in town and well of course they knew Colleen. Not only was she a regular customer, but she was a vocal Facebook supporter on their Facebook page. Even on Facebook, she would share her and support for anyone or any restaurant…that in itself, brought her happiness.
Most importantly, she lived her life for her family and was their biggest cheerleader. Colleen was a true servant of God, and you would know this by the way she treated anyone who came into her path. She was happy to serve as everyone’s mom and grandma, a true best friend and confident. One who never strayed from telling folks how it was. Colleen was the rock and foundation for our family. I can say for certain that she gave more than she received, always giving herself and her time to anyone who needed her.
In all my days, I have never seen a more devoted wife than Colleen. She will be remembered as a fiercely loyal and devoted wife to her late husband Nick. I can only imagine that the heavens are bursting with joy at their long-awaited reunion and for all of our sadness her on Earth-there is a great celebration in the heavens.
“Have I told you today that I love you?” was her greeting, “Lub you too much” was her moniker. For each tragedy and struggle in her life here on earth, she knew that the core of humanity was rooted in love and for this, she never wavered. Love was what she knew best and, in these times, we will miss that most about our beloved Colleen.
Colleen is survived by and lovingly remember by her daughter Tiffany (JR) Vasquez.
