Colt Knipstein

Colt Matthew Knipstein, 34, of Houston, passed away March 11, 2018 in Cypress.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Colt was born in Brenham on November 21, 1983 to Mark Charles and Deborah Hamilton Knipstein. He was baptized January 15, 1984 and confirmed May 31, 1998. Colt was employed as an HVAC technician, and was a member of Local 211 of the Pipefitters Union.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Debbie Knipstein of Brenham; daughter, Layton Lynn Knipstein of Houston; brothers James C. Knipstein (Tara) of Brenham, and Daniel A. Knipstein of St. Joseph, Missouri; grandmothers Johnnie A. Hamilton and Rita M. Knipstein; niece Haven Knipstein; nephews Jaxson and Logan Lampe; aunts and uncles: Marsha and Sonny Dannhaus, Connie Knipstein, and Cheryl Hamilton; cousins: Tammy and Gary Hamilton, Amber and Kyle Pryor, Dana Nathanson, Allison and Kyle Allison, Kristina and Kaci Krueger, and his godson, Payton C. Blake.

Colt was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James M. Knipstein and Durwood J. Hamilton, and an uncle, Don R. Hamilton.

Honorary pallbearers are Justin Blake, Matt McClendon, Stefan Schultz, Eric Andreas, Todd Steele, Payton C. Blake, Heath Durham, and Matt Blake.

Memorials in Colt’s memory may be directed to the Layton Knipstein Educational Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank in Brenham.
