Corine Lopez

Corine M. Lopez, 89, of Brenham, TX, passed away peacefully to our Lord and savior surrounded by her family on July 21, 2020 in Brenham, TX.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, TX with Father Everardo Cazares officiating. A rosary will be held prior to the service. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be encouraged and face masks will be required at the service.

A visitation will be from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Mrs. Lopez was born on September 14, 1930 in Vaughn, NM to Domoseno and Adela Paiz Martinez. She married her husband, Adan Lopez, on July 14, 1954. She was baptized and confirmed in September in 1930.

Mrs. Lopez was a wonderful wife and mother. Corine was a devoted Catholic and would say her Novena Prayers every night to San Martin de Porres and Jesus Christ our Lord. Her prayers were always for family and friends in their time of need.

Mrs. Lopez made friends easily and always helped them. Corine loved to take care of her flowers and would spend time outside. She read the newspaper daily until her vision no longer allowed. She loved to crochet and take care of her animals. She loved all those who met her. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild were her pride and joy.

Corine is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Encinias Faithauer, son-in-law, Herbert Faithauer of Brenham, TX; Isabel and Tony Baldo of Albuquerque NM; and sister, Georgia Martinez Boyd of Orange, CA; sister-in-law, Onfalia Pena Rivera and husband Raymond Rivera; brother-in-law, Juan Peña Jr.; sister-in-law, Clara Martinez; grandchildren, April Bilski and Anthony Faithauer; great-grandchildren, Brittany Joswiak and husband Jacob; Shelby Glona and husband Chris, and Garrett Bilski; great-great granddaughter, Chloe Glona and expecting a great-great grandson in September Mason Glona; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loved ones and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Domoseno and Adela Martinez; husband, Adan Lopez; brothers, John Martinez of Clovis, NM; and Sonny Martinez of Clovis, NM; brother and sister-in-law, Luis and Luisa Martinez of Clovis, NM; and Arturo Martinez of San Pablo, CO; sister and brothers-in-law, Melita and Vicente Davalos of Albuquerque, NM; Mary Ann Martinez of Garden Grove, CA; brother-in-law, Everado Lopez; and in-laws, Juan and Aurora Peña.

Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Faithauer, Garrett Bilski, Chris Glona, Jacob Joswiak, Herbert W. Faithauer, and Donald Bilski. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be April Bilski, Raymond Rivera, and John Pena.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham, TX.

Special thanks and gratitude to Dr. F. Leal and Traditions Health Hospice for their care and love they showed to Corine and family.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
