Corinthian “Jabo” Jones, 60, passed away November 25, 2017 in Brenham.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017 at New Life Church of God, with Pastor Albert Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Jabo Jones was born April 22, 1957 in Brenham to Oscar Jr. and Malinda J. Rogers Jones. At a young age, he accepted Christ through baptism. After completing high school, he served his country in the U.S. Marines. He worked in the production department at Blue Bell Creameries.
Jabo loved to ride horses and enjoyed shoeing horses as a hobby. Barbecuing for family and friends and spending time with grandchildren were favorite pastimes. He never met a stranger, and enjoyed country and western dancing, as well as singing old school music. He enjoyed family and friends at El Charro T’s.
Survivors include his soulmate, Cindy Ross Turnbow of Brenham, and her daughter, Nichole Schulz-Carr (Desmond); father, Oscar Jones of Dallas; son, Anthony Wayne Contee of Brenham; brothers Tim Jones of Brenham, and Ron Jones of Dallas; sisters Cynthia Jones Tolbert, Mattie Jones, and Janet Jones (Ernest) Lott, all of Brenham; sisters, Barbara Jones and Kathy Jones (Gordon) Horton of Dallas. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His mother, Malinda Jones, preceded him in death.
