Daniel Surovik

Daniel Otto Surovik 83, husband of Bessie Mikeska Surovik, died February 28, 2008 in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center. Mr. Surovik was born January 6, 1925, in the Wesley community of Washington County to Frank and Marie Pomykal Surovik. He was baptized and confirmed in the Wesley Brethren Church, and attended the Wesley school. On March 23, 1957 he was married to Bessie Mikeska in the Wesley Brethren Church. Mr. Surovik was employed at the Cotton Mill and the Steadley Co. He served in the US Army in World War II. Mr. Surovik enjoyed gardening and fishing. Survivors include his wife Bessie Surovi; son, Thomas Surovik of Wesley; grandchildren: Marshall Surovik, Kari and Josh Thompson; sisters, Lydia Boecker of Brenham, Valasta Prescott of Brenham, and Marie Martin of Oklahoma; sister-in-law Leona Surovik of Rosenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Wesley Brethren Church in Wesley with Pastor Michael Groseclose officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
