Danny Muegge

Danny Muegge, 59, of Brenham, died May 19, 2017 in Bryan, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill with Pastor Kris Brower officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 22, 2017, at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Danny was born to Tillie Moerbe and the late Reinhard Muegge on December 3, 1957 in Brenham, Texas. He was baptized on January 19, 1958 and was confirmed on May 21, 1972 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, Brenham, Texas.

Danny married the love of his life, Pam Hodde, on November 11, 1978 at St. John Lutheran Church, Prairie Hill. The union of their marriage blessed them with their son, Danny Jr. and wife Julie Brooks Muegge. Along with two beautiful granddaughters, Dylan Ray and Jadyn Brooks Muegge that know him as “PAPA”.

Danny Muegge was a consistent, strong, loyal, light-hearted, and honest man. He was married to "his bride", Pam, for 38 and a half years and always put her and their family before himself. Big Danny owned and operated a muffler shop in Brenham, Texas for 25 plus years. He found great joy in most recent years managing his father-in-law, A.A. Hodde's, cattle ranch. Big Danny was very proud of his son, Danny Jr., and enjoyed traveling to his baseball games and watching him show livestock. He was especially proud of his two granddaughters, Dylan and Jadyn. He was quick to share accomplishments of his family with anyone who would listen. His hobbies also included hunting, BBQing, visiting and laughing with friends and family. Danny was dependable and never missed his son or granddaughters' events. His greatest joys in life were his faith, family, and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Muegge, son and daughter-in-law Danny Jr. and Julie Muegge, granddaughters Dylan Ray and Jadyn Brooks Muegge, mother Tillie Harrison, and husband Jack Harrison, brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Vicky Muegge, brother, Joe Muegge, father-in-law, A.A. Hodde and wife Tina Hodde, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Jon and Kim Hodde, Dean and Linda Hodde, Scott and Patty Hodde, Russel and Sallie Hodde, Alan and Kyra Nanco. Nieces and nephews: Melissa and Kelly Guttenberger, Brett and Rachel Muegge, Ronson and Jeanie Muegge, Misty Hodde-Maynard, Mandy Hodde, Nicky Overstreet, Lynn Willoughby, Candice Nanco, Cassandra Nanco, Amanda Rainwater, Jake Rainwater, Jaida Duckworth. Along with numerous special Great Nieces and Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Preceded in Death include: Father R.H. Muegge Jr., Brother Ronnie Muegge, Mother-in-Law Dorothy Zientek, Brother-in-Law Nicholas Hodde.

Serving as Pallbearers are Brett Muegge, Melissa and Kelly Guttenberger, Ronson Muegge, Mandy Hodde, Jon Hodde, Dean Hodde, Charles Majewski, Otto Kemper, and Victor Brier.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Jr. and Julie Brooks Muegge, Dylan and Jadyn Muegge, Brothers, Misty Hodde-Maynard, Brother-in-Laws, Baseball Family, Independence Breakfast Crew, Co-workers, all friends and family.

Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Sandy Hill and Hospice Brazos Valley.
