David John Allan, of Brenham, passed away August 9, 2008 at the age of 56, in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. David Allan was born December 9, 1951 in Roseburg, OR. to Perry Harold Allan and Winifred Betty Pereira Allan of Sutherlin OR. He received a degree in B.S. Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and served as a Naval Officer in the ROTC. David began his career working in his father''s business as a fabricator and continued on as a Mechanical Engineer when he moved to Houston, Texas in 1979. Mr. Allan was a member of the American Welding Society and American Society for Mechanical Engineers. His hobbies and interest included affiliations in the National Rifle Association, American and Texas Rabbit Breeders Associations, and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. On April 1, 1983, he married Linda M. Eck in Rosenberg, Texas. They moved the family to Brenham, Texas in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Linda Allan of Brenham, daughters and son-in-law Jennifer and Chris McCormack of Merrimack, New Hampshire, and Laurie Eck of Brenham, brothers: Steven Allan of Spring Texas and Jim Allan of Hollywood, California, sisters and brother-in-law, Joan and Jeff Kayser of Spring, Texas and sister-in-law Carol Cromley of Brenham. Nephews: Matthew Kayser and Michael Kayser of Spring, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Perry Harold and Winifred Betty Allan of Sutherlin, OR. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Following the service there will be the visitation with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Heart Association, Animal Friends of Washington Co. 3901 Hwy 36 N. Brenham, Texas or to your favorite charity.
