David Anderson

David L. Anderson, 84, of Burton, died Sept. 27, 2014, at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at St. Peter''s Episcopal Church of Brenham with Father David Ottsen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton. Mr. Anderson was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Holdenville, OK, to John Elmer and Alice Mildred Gaches Anderson. He was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School and a 1956 graduate of Texas A&M University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Oct. 14, 1977, he was married to Johnnie Lou Vaughn in St. John Episcopal Church of LaPorte. He was a member of St. Peter''s Episcopal Church of Brenham. Mr. Anderson enjoyed attending gun shows, watching the military channel and being with his grandchildren. He was a retired architectural engineer with Brown and Root. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Lou Anderson of Burton; children, Charlie Allen Anderson of Houston, David L. Anderson and wife Julie of Cypress, James Bobo, Jr. of Burton and Betsy Blackshear of LaPorte; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
