Funeral services for Deanna Q. Stark, 71, a resident of Spring, TX will be held on March 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham, TX. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery at the cross roads of FM 1948 and FM 390. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, Brenham, TX. Deanna passed away March 17, 2014 in the comfort of her home in Spring, TX with her family at her side, after a long battle with leukemia. Deanna was born on March 15, 1943 in Brenham, TX, the daughter of Henry Edward and Lora Blome Quebe. She was united in marriage to Harry Lee Stark of Burton, TX on February 14, 1965 in Prairie Hill, TX. Deanna grew up as a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill, TX, being confirmed on April 14, 1957. She was a cheer leader and a graduate of Brenham High School where she was voted Miss BHS in 1961. Deanna retired from General Motors after 25 years of service. She never retired from taking care of and loving her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Harry Lee Stark, Spring, TX: mother Lora Quebe, Brenham, Tx; Sister Elvera Tisdel and brother-in-law Morris Tisdel of Brenham, TX; her children and spouses, son''s Bret Stark and daughter-in-law Susan Pacifico Stark, Magnolia, TX and Cody Stark, Hermosa Beach, CA; Daughter Halee Stark Kalkhake and son-in-law Nathan Kalkhake, Burton, TX; Grandchildren; Sidney, Haden, and Tommie Anne Stark of The Woodlands, TX and Mason Lee Kalkhake of Burton, TX; and Chase Fox, Magnolia, TX. Nieces, Erin Tisdel of Houston, TX and Melanie Harp of Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Edward Quebe in 2002. Pallbearers are Haden Stark, Nathan Kalkhake, Jeffrey Pilchiek, Roy Kelm, Robert Richter and Charles Rau. Honorary Pallbearers are Morris Tisdel, Erin Tisdel, Walline Grimm, Faye Jean Rau, Betty Lou Richter, Rita Fay Leisy, Beverly Grace, Ray Netzel, David Netzel, Jan Kelm, Eunice Kelm, and Sue Maass. In lieu of flowers our family would ask that you find some time and give blood or blood platelets or both. Battling leukemia requires multiple blood and platelet transfusions during the treatment process and we would like to graciously thank all the donors we will never know.
