Debora Ann Ruemke Talamantez, of Brenham, died unexpectedly on February 3rd, 2022, at the age of 61.
A visitation will be held from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Wednesday, February 9, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 10, at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Debora was born to Edward and Dorothy Bosse Ruemke on September 16, 1960 in Fort Hood,Texas. She graduated from Brenham High School in 1979.
Debora was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had a heart of gold and was always reaching out her hand to those in need. While still able, Debora was very involved with her church family, including serving on the church council for many years. She had a deep love for God. Debora loved watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays, while drinking Dr. Pepper. She had a fairly extensive angel figurine collection. You could always find her playing pitch at any family gathering. Debora was an avid baker and made many a wedding cake, including her own. She worked at Germania for 20 years before receiving a double lung transplant in 2015 and retiring. In recent years, she could usually be found taking a nap with her cat, Stormi, on her chest. Debora was very much looking forward to being a grandmother and had chosen to be called Dede. She left a strong impression on all those lucky enough to know her and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Alyssa Talamantez, Anthony Talamantez & Bryanna White; grandson, Roman Alexander Talamantez; sister and brother-in-law, Carloyn and Michael Brister; brother, Bryan Ruemke; nephews and niece, Cody Steinfeld & Catherine Peacher, Cory Steinfeld, Josh & Charly Ruemke, Carlee Ruemke; great-nieces and nephew, Lena, Cora, & Jensen Ruemke; aunt and uncle, Loreen & Clarence Ruemke; husband, Robert Talamantez; numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Talamantez, Michael Brister, Cody Steinfeld, Cory Steinfeld, Josh Ruemke, Mike Ruemke, Kenneth Ruemke, and Bruce Hohlt.
Memorials may be directed to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin.
