Delia Martinez

Delia Martinez, who was better known as “Lita” by her children and grandkids, went to be with the Lord on November 17th. She was home surrounded by her 10 children.

Delia was born in San José De Reyes, Mexico on June 11th 1934. Delia married George C. Martinez December 10th 1964. They made their home in Coleman, Texas. Delia was a devoted mother and wife. She loved to sing, garden, and cook for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Those left to cherish Delia’s memory include her daughters Rosie and husband Raul De Los Santos of Coleman, TX, Mary Ellen and husband Russell Schultz of Brenham, TX, Mary Jo and husband Simon Beard of Abilene, TX, Dolores and husband Oscar Lozano of Abilene, TX, Rosa and husband Ted Dean of Brenham, TX, Georgia and husband Donnie Armentor of Brenham, TX, and sons Henry Rodriguez of Hico, TX, Jose Cervantes of San Antonio, TX, Mark and wife Allison Martinez of Coleman, TX, and Michael and wife Marisa Martinez of Austin, TX; one sister, Elpidia Castaneda of Anthony, NM; one brother Amador Cervantes of Durango, Mexico; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Delia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Martinez, and her sisters Catalina Cervantes, Raquel Cervantes, Luisa Cervantes, and Engracia Cervantes.

Memorial Services for Delia Martinez will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Grace Community Fellowship Church, 107 S. Saeger St., Brenham, TX 77833.

Service arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham, TX.
